Amparibe Famonjena
3D heritage tour
FJKM Amparibe Famonjena has stood in Antananarivo since 1861. This project turns the building into its own guide: an interactive 3D tour, written in Malagasy, where the tower, the roof, the organ and the pulpit each open a piece of the church’s history.
It began as a 3D model with camera views and a seating finder. In 2026 it was rebuilt as a researched heritage tour: 17 stops tied to parts of the model, a chronology that runs from 1818 to today, and a library of the public sources behind every story. It is an independent project, not the parish’s official website.

How it is built
The model that opens in the browser weighs 36 MB; the first build weighed 252 MB. There is no framework underneath, the whole tour works from a keyboard, and a test fails if any named part of the church is left without a story.
